Aureus was a group of seven musicians - six guys and a girl - who offered a unique fusion of jazz and pop rock, and combined innovative brass lines with a refreshing blend of vocal harmonies on a bed of driving R&B rhythms.
Aureus was based in Chicago and toured some 36 states, Canada, and the Bahamas; had successful engagements in Reno and Las Vegas and many college and high school events. During their travels they met and received great acclaim from such artists as: the groups Yes and Abba, Gino Vannelli and Les Hooper. Bill Meyers, who has had his songs recorded by Earth, Wind and Fire, Rufus and Harvey Mason, co-wrote and produced recordings with AUREUS.
This website is dedicated to the group that began in 1975, although Aureus had its beginnings in the early 1970s. The group last performed together in Florida in 1986.
